WHAT WE LOOK AT

Hail damage is mostly not visible from your driveway

From the ground a hail-hit roof usually looks the same as it did the week before. What tells the story is up close, and a lot of it is not the shingles.

The shingles

Bruising you can feel before you can see it, granule loss, creased tabs, and shingles the wind lifted and set back down.

The soft metals

Vents, flashing, gutters and downspouts. Hail dents these before it visibly marks a shingle, which is why we photograph them.

Where water gets in

Pipe boots, valleys, ridge caps and penetrations. A small failure here is what turns a storm into a ceiling stain in March.

Inside the house

Attic decking and ceiling staining, when you want us to look. Damage that has already reached the inside changes what needs doing.

Before you sign anything

Three things worth knowing when a truck shows up in your driveway

Nobody can legally pay your deductible

Oklahoma law prohibits a roofing contractor from waiving or absorbing your insurance deductible to win the job (59 O.S. 1151.30). If somebody offers, you have learned something useful about them.

Sometimes the roof is fine

Hail under an inch often leaves a roof serviceable. We would rather tell you that, in writing, and be the company you call in four years when it is genuinely time.

You file the claim, we document the roof

You get dated photos and a written summary to give your insurer. Filing and dealing with your adjuster stays with you. We quote and do the roofing work itself.

How it goes

From your phone call to a straight answer

01

Tell us about the property

Your name, phone, the address, and what you noticed after the storm.

02

We get on the roof

One of our crews walks every slope and photographs the shingles, the soft metals and the penetrations.

03

You get it in writing

A plain summary of what we found. If there is damage, we talk through the repair or the replacement and what it costs.

What homeowners ask us after a storm

Is the inspection actually free?

Yes. The roof inspection and the written summary cost you nothing. If we find damage, you get a price for the work, and whether to do it is your call.

What if my roof turns out to be fine?

We tell you it is fine, put it in writing, and go. That answer happens more often than people expect after a storm, and it is worth having on paper.

Will you handle my insurance claim for me?

No. We document the roof with dated photos and a written summary you can give your insurer. You file the claim and work with your adjuster. What we do is quote and build the roof.

Can you cover my deductible?

No, and neither can anyone else. Oklahoma law prohibits a roofing contractor from waiving or absorbing your insurance deductible as an inducement to sign (59 O.S. 1151.30).

How soon after a storm should I get this done?

Sooner is easier. Damage is simpler to connect to a specific storm date while it is fresh, and insurance policies limit how long you have to file. If a storm came through in the last few months, it is worth a look.

What if the roof needs replacing?

Full replacements at Whitfield commonly run $9,000 to $18,000, depending on roof size and shingle selection. We go through the details with you before giving a price.

Do you come out to my part of town?

We work around Tulsa. Send the property address and our office will confirm that you are in our working area when we call.
